Affecting Server - Greyhound

We will be migrating all Lucee 5 customers from the Greyhound server to our new Lucee 6 DirectAdmin hosting services on the 7th of December. Below is a copy of the email communication sent for reference.
Email Communication:
We are retiring our Lucee 5 hosting on cPanel on the 7th December 2026. Your service runs on this platform, so your sites will need to move before that date. We understand such moves can have an impact, our we are here to assist with the move over.
What is changing
We are consolidating our Lucee hosting onto our current platform: Lucee 6 on DirectAdmin. The Lucee 5 cPanel service will be switched off on 7th of December 2026, and we will not be able to keep it running much longer beyond that date.
Where to move
Our Lucee 6 hosting plans are listed at https://hostmedia.uk/lucee-hosting/ and start from £4.95 per month (ex VAT):
- Ignite: 10 GB SSD, 1 hosted site
- Flux: 25 GB SSD, 2 hosted sites
- Catalyst: 50 GB SSD, 5 hosted sites
- Momentum: 65 GB SSD, 8 hosted sites
- Quantum: 75 GB SSD, 12 hosted sites
Every plan includes DirectAdmin, a separate Lucee web administrator for each site, CFManager Lucee Edition monitoring, JetBackup with self-restore, and daily file and database backups. Migration is free. If you are not sure which plan fits your current usage, tell us what you run today and we will be happy to recommend the best option for your needs.
If you have custom requirements please get in touch as soon as possible so we can assist you.
If we do not hear from you, we will migrate your account and assign the best plan option based on your current hosting package and inform you once the migration has been completed and send a new Account Information email with all the IP DNS/Nameserver records.
What to check before you move
- Lucee 6 is a major version change from Lucee 5, so please test your applications on it. Moving early leaves time to fix anything that needs attention while your current service is still running.
- The control panel changes from cPanel to DirectAdmin. Email accounts, databases, cron jobs and DNS are all managed there, but the layout will be new to many.
- If your domains point at your current server’s IP address, the DNS records will need updating when you switch, same goes for domain nameservers.
Want us to do the migration earlier?
We will move your sites, databases, email and cron jobs for you, and we are happy to do this before 7th of December if you prefer. To arrange it, reply to this email with:
- The plan you would like to move to
- Any date or time window that suits you, or any you need to avoid
- Anything unusual about your setup we should know to test post migration
Your existing service stays live until you switch DNS, so you can test the new one alongside it.
What happens on 7th of December
Your current service will be shut down on 7th of December 2026. Data on the old server will be kept for 14 days after that date and then deleted, so please make sure you have what you need. We will be crediting any unused hosting period to your account.
